Electrical engineering drawing ( EED )

Exam point of view question and some diagrams as  shown below..

In case of electrical installation and circuit it may be very difficult to draw the drawing and write the name of Electrical components and instruments.
The graphical symbols are used to indicate the electrical connections and equipments.

Convention symbols

General wiring symbol

Socket output symbols

Electrical appliances symbols

20 marks question

Earthing

The term earthing means connecting the neutral point of a supply system or the non current carrying metal parts used in electrical distribution system to the general mass of the earth by wire of negligible resistance in such a manner that at all times and immediate discharge of electrical energy takes place without danger. This brings the body of the equipment to zero potential and thus will avoid the shock to the operator . According to Indian Electricity rules the earthing is defined as the earthed or to ensure at all times and immediate discharge of energy without danger .

Purpose of earthing

The basic purpose of earthing is to protect the human body from electric shock .
To avoid risk of fire due to earth leakage current through unwanted path.
